Happy Birthday, America!
Fourth of July is right around the corner. I hope everyone has fun and stays safe.
We used to go to the riverfront, grab hot dogs or other treats, spread out a blanket, and watch the fireworks.
Families watched from boats on the river too. The crowds were always big, but we usually ran into people we knew.
During the day, we’d swim at the lake in Pomona Park, cook out, and spend time with family and friends.
There were picnic tables, grills, and plenty of laughter—especially when someone ended up with ice down their bathing suit.
These days, we keep things quieter. Since I am blind and deaf, getting around can be harder without help, but I still do what I can.
We accept, adapt, and keep moving—one step at a time.
Stay cool and stay safe!
